A newer, less invasive treatment
Welcome to University Health System’s Craniosynostosis website. As the founders of this world-renowned procedure, we take great pride in sharing our success stories and how we’ve helped hundreds of children to grown up and live normal lives thanks to a newer, less invasive treatment – Endoscopic-assisted Craniectomy. Our craniofacial team, led by Neurosurgeon, Dr. David F. Jimenez, and Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Constance M. Barone, has developed and performed a newer and less invasive technique for the treatment of patients with Craniosynostosis. These innovators of this world-renowned Craniosynostosis procedure, have treated patients as young as 12 weeks and some from as far away as Brazil, Chile, and Saudia Arabia with this groundbreaking procedure.
As you look through our website, you will learn about craniosynostosis, the premature closure of skull sutures, how it affects children and why our newer, less invasive treatment is being used around the country.
In addition, we have provided you with specific information about the different classes and types of craniosynostosis, video animations showing normal skull anatomy and ways to treat sagittal, coronal and metopic synostosis. We encourage to you to watch our videos explaining how our procedure is performed as well as video testimonials from patients whose infants were treated at University Hospital and browse through out extensive photo galleries showing short and long term results.
As we continue to teach our colleagues how to successfully master this new procedure, we invite you to contact us directly for any questions you may have about craniosynostosis.
