Your child’s health is your top priority. It’s ours too.
An innovator in the field, University Health System is among the nation’s leading health care centers for diagnosing, treating, and developing advanced treatment methods to provide unmatched, quality care for infants with craniosynostosis.
Our nationally distinguished physician, Dr. David Jimenez pioneered and developed a minimally-invasive treatment option, called Endoscopic Strip Craniectomies, for babies with Craniosynostosis, and have performed this reconstructive surgery more than any other medical team in the world.
Our Craniosynostosis Treatment
Our unique treatment decreases complications, surgical trauma, and need for transfusions during surgery, producing exceptional results with less overall risk to your baby. In our procedure, we release the prematurely closed suture and allow the rapidly growing brain to remodel the skull and face to a normal shape. The traditional treatment approach involves surgery to separate the fused bones. If there's no underlying brain abnormality, the surgery allows your baby's brain adequate space to grow and develop.
Parents from all over the world have come to Dr. Jimenez to find a treatment for their baby's craniosynostosis. We encourage you to learn more about the different types of craniosynostosis by reviewing before and after photos of babies we treated. We also have video testimonials from some of the hundreds of parents who have trusted us to treat their infant over the past decade.
